Turn Your Guitar Into A Sitar. From a standard guitar tuning (E - A - D - G - B- E), tune your guitar to B - F# - B - F# - B - B to create an authentic sitar sound. Use the 'high' strings of the guitar to create melodies of a sitar nature while strumming all strings to create the familiar sitar 'drone'. The guitar playing in the video shows improvised melodies along with improvised eastern sounding rhythms and styles.

Boss RC-3 Loop Station. My first loop. Funk & Fusion.

I have just bought myself a Boss RC-3 Loop Station pedal. I wanted one specifically for jamming and practicing at home, but I am also thinking about taking it out and about for busking and stuff like that, once I get used to it a bit more.

Anyway, here is the first loop I created using the pedal. The rhythm guitars may remind you of a Sister Sledge song played by Nile Rodgers. I jammed some fusion-esque lead guitar over the top.

Sitar for Guitar Technique

   A simple and effective guitar technique which sounds similar to a sitar. I've also made a departure from a sitar-esque sounding theme into maybe a middle-eastern sound, along with other improvisational ideas and rhythms. Use a dropped 'D' tuning and play single notes along the 'G' string. Add bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs, etc. to suit your own style and effect and perhaps play around with the 'D' chord for added embellishments.
