A simple and effective guitar technique which sounds similar to a sitar. I've also made a departure from a sitar-esque sounding theme into maybe a middle-eastern sound, along with other improvisational ideas and rhythms. Use a dropped 'D' tuning and play single notes along the 'G' string. Add bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs, etc. to suit your own style and effect and perhaps play around with the 'D' chord for added embellishments.
